Path to Princess Half: Princess Prep

So for those counting down with me, eight days from today is my very first half marathon.  This journey has gone from an idea, to a commitment, to a near reality.  This time next week I will be at Disney World will most likely be finished running the Royal Family 5k, with my BRF and partner in crime and we will be partaking in the Princess Half Weekend Breakfast before heading back out to the parks.  (Hi, Friend!)

What's left? Outside of getting through the next few days?  Not much.    More Princess Half Meet Up stalking on Monday.  Packing, and did I mention getting through the next few days?

I told the little ran's last night that I was going on a "business trip" for six days with a race somewhere towards the end.  A little mommy fib.  Not ideal.  But hello, they are 5 and 7 and Disney is their most favorite place in the world.  To know in advance that I was going to their happy place, without them would not be pretty.  But never fear, we have a trip planned for their fall break (missing Tower of Terror 10 miler by a So they will have their time soon.

I am happy to say that there were no tears (from either me or them).  I promised presents, lots and lots of presents.  Phone calls and Skype.  Though I am going to have to be careful where I Skype from.  Might even bring back some hints from Mickey and the Princesses to hint about what is to come in October.

Hair was trimmed, and now a little more Snow White dark than the dark with sneaking bits of silver here and there.  Have a little last minute shopping to do.  Trying to decide if I want to buy a small camera for race route pictures.  Maybe another pair of shorts.  I'm fighting the urge to go totally crazy because I suspect the expo might be my spending undoing.  But a girl has to have the right clothes for the weather (once the weather makes up its mind).

Exciting times ahead.  I absolutely can not wait to experience the Disney magic in my first half marathon.  Remember when I was saying it was going to be my only?  Boy times have changed.  Thanks for coming along for the ride.
