Happy Happy Day

Actually, there have been several happy days this week.  But today I am super excited because I found out my flight information for runDisney's Wine & Dine Half Marathon.

I've been relatively tight lipped about this one because the details have not been up to me, so I've been trying to bide my time. But, oh my goodness, seeing flight confirmations has made me positively giddy.  I am super excited to be returning this year for another runDisney race.  Yes, it's just a few weeks after the big massive family trip, but this is a short visit and it was for an amazing, amazing charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

So so many reasons to be giddy, first and foremost, the course it has us running through Animal Kingdom and past the Tree of Life.  Through Hollywood Studios and has us entering by one of my fave's The Tower of Terror and through the Osborne Family Lights.  I have heard these lights are amazing, I can't wait to experience them for the first time.  Not to mention running past family favorites Star Tours and the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and finally winding up just outside of Epcot.  The end of the race?  Why it's a party at Epcot after hours, how cool is that going to be?  Lot's of good food to nosh on after running, oh and maybe an adult beverage or two if you are so inclined.

I'm also excited to meet the DisBroads for the first time in person. More details on the DisBroads in the near future but they happen to share my love (um, maybe obsession is a better word choice) of all things Disney and runDisney.  I also get to see my friend Wendy, who I had the pleasure of hanging out with at the Expo for a bit and pre-race and start for Princess Half.

I'm also traveling with two of my local running friends.  Miss Lisa is joining me again and will be running her first half marathon and after coming back from foot surgery no less and another friend who will be making her first runDisney pilgrimage with me.  We might have had some practice with late night races and a finish line party.

The biggest reason I'm excited?  It's my birthday weekend, and a half decade birthday at that.  I can't imagine a better place to be celebrating my birthday weekend than at Walt Disney World and participating in a runDisney race with both old friends and new.  I am so geeked out by this it's not even funny.  I get the best of both worlds this year, I get to spend my actual birthday with my little people and the husband and my birthday weekend at Disney.  What more could an old'ish girl ask for?

Who else is excited?  Everything all set for you? Is it a family trip or a friends trip for you?
