Suzanne Randoms...end of July edition

It's summer which means my schedule has consisted of work, swimming lessons, family fun and oh yeah this running thing.

I will be the first person to admit I have long let my running take a backseat to other things, after Goofy that is. I had a gazillion excuses and have used them all.  But you know shame is a powerful motivator (at least for me) and after yet another month of having the lowest monthly mileage of the run 2,015 in 2015 group I'm in I decided to stop making excuses and hop back on my treadmill.

So with that in mind here are some randoms for July

- In the St. Jude Hero news, I have reached a little over my halfway point.

I've got one really big fundraiser coming up that I'm really excited about.  It ties to my Disney Starbucks fundraisers and my love of Disney.  Also have a garage sale and possibly another thirty-one party coming.  Stay tuned for more details.

- I made a mileage goal this month (see above as to why).  I decided that I wanted to try to get to 60 miles this month.  While there are people who run more than that on a monthly basis but going from barely 10 to 60 was kind of a lofty goal.  While I did good about getting up early to get my run in before the end of the school year and vacation.  I wasn't doing so great once I got back.  Now I'm running at night when I get home and before I eat dinner.  While not eating until after 8p or sometimes 9p isn't ideal.  I have to say that I'm proud of myself for getting it done regardless. I'm enjoying it again and my mood is way better.  Funny how that works.  At any rate as of this exact moment in time I'm sitting at 50.01 miles.  Think I might meet my goal, but hoping to bypass it entirely.

 - Did you know that you can wear your fitbit too tight?  Yeah, I didn't and my wrist got burned a bit. After not wearing it for the better part of Saturday and wearing it super loose since then it is finally peeling and looking a bit better.  Lesson learned and for my fitbit HR Charge friends, let my stupidity be a good reminder to keep it loose.

-  In just three short weeks L & E go back to school.  Either this summer has flown by or vacations aren't as long as they used to be.  They have had one great summer though so I don't feel too bad for them.  ;)

It's been so far this summer. I am so excited to be getting back on track and I'm starting to look forward to the beginning of Dopey Training in September.

How has your summer been going?
